Sir (!) Richard Eyre ist einer der profiliertesten Bühnenregisseure Englands. Von 1988 bis 1997 leitete er das Royal National Theater in London. Er hat vor allem für das Fernsehen gearbeitet - unter anderem eine King-Lear-Fassung inszeniert -, seine zwei Kinofilme haben keinen tieferen Eindruck hinterlassen.
