Mike Hodges

Bei SFGate ein Artikel über Mike Hodges (Get Carter, Croupier) und seinen neuesten Film "I'll Sleep When I'm Dead". Man erfährt auch, warum Hodges nach drei Wochen als Regisseur von "Omen II" aufgab (oder aufgeben musste):

He was approached about directing the original "Omen," but "I truly found the script so preposterous I didn't want to do it. But the second one intrigued me. I found it absolutely fascinating because here you have this devil child taking over this large American corporation, and what does this corporation want to do -- corner the world food market with genetically modified foods. You have all those ultra-right-wing sort of born-again Christian undertones, the Apocalypse and the Book of Revelations and all the things that George Bush bases his whole policy on, as far as I can see, which is really scary. So that's the part of it I really liked. The horror side didn't interest me. So it's my own fault that it didn't work out.
